Children 12 years old or under will not be allowed in the pool after it is dark outside. This means that children, during the month of February will be welcome in the pool until 6:00pm (7:00 pm in March). Please see our Policy page for more information.
Takhini Hot Pools is one of the most visited locations in the Yukon. The hot springs have been in operation for over 100 years. Our hot springs pools are a relaxing 36° and 42° Celsius, with water entering the pool at 47 degrees. The water is natural and rich in minerals . We are open year around. Winter is coming! Takhini Hot Pools is the hottest place to be in the cold winter months. It is also the best place to view northern lights outdoors! We offer pool rentals from 12pm to 4pm and from 10pm to 2am daily. The property has no light pollution and is the perfect spot to watch the northern lights dance from the hot waters of the pool. Rent the pool for you and a loved one or invite your friends to experience the northern phenomena in your own private pool. Our rates are very affordable. Why rent a hot tub when you can rent an entire pool?
The Takhini Hot Springs property has over 300 acres of beautiful wilderness to be explored and enjoyed. During the summer we have many hiking and bike trails. And in winter, you can cross country ski or snowshoe on many great trails. We also have a big pond where everyone is free to swim and cool down. After some good exercise, you can treat yourself to a relaxing soak in the hot springs and a delicious meal at Cafe Balzam. Access and use of the trails are free of charge!
The Takhini area is huge and has lots to offer all travelers. There are many great businesses to visit! The Hot Springs Campground is a beautiful place with forested sites for tents or RVs. The new Hot Springs Hostel offers comfortable beds, a kitchen, and Wifi for all guests. Both the campground and the hostel are located right beside the Takhini Hot Pools. Want to see northern animals? Go to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for guaranteed wildlife viewing; you can walk at your own pace for a self-guided tour, or take a vehicle and have a guide show you around. Are you hungry? Cafe Balzam (located beside Takhini Hot Pools) specializes in sweet and savory crepes as well as gourmet poutines; everything is organic and locally grown/raised. Just in the mood for a good coffee?
