We are open Thursday through Sunday from 2pm to 10pm. Our last day of operation will be September 25th. After that date we will be closed permanently. A new hot springs facility, operated by a new company with a different name, will be opening in early 2021.
Takhini Hot Pools is one of the most visited locations in the Yukon. The hot springs have been in operation for over 100 years. Our hot springs pools are a relaxing 36° and 42° Celsius, with water entering the pool at 47 degrees. The water is natural and rich in minerals . We are open year around. Please see the menu above for our summer and winter hours. See our "Hours & Rates" section for nightly deals and specials.
Located beside the hot springs, this brand new hostel was opened in 2014. Our forested campground, behind the hostel, provides excellent northern lights viewing. The edge-of-the-wilderness location provides access to trails for walking, biking, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing. All guests from the hostel and campground receive a 20% discount at the hot springs.
Takhini Hot Pools is located 28km from downtown Whitehorse. There are a number of ways you can reach our hot springs. The easiest way is to rent a car and drive to our location. If you do not have a rental then we suggest taking advantage of these great local businesses: Black Bear Wilderness Adventures, Nature Tours of Yukon, and Who What Where Tours. These excellent companies will transport you right to our door or they will include our hot springs in their custom tours of Yukon attractions. Taxis are always a viable option as well.
The Takhini area is huge and has lots to offer all travelers. There are many great businesses to visit! The Hot Springs Campground is a beautiful place with forested sites for tents or RVs. The new Hot Springs Hostel offers comfortable beds, a kitchen, and Wifi for all guests. Both the campground and the hostel are located right beside the Takhini Hot Pools. Want to see northern animals? Go to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for guaranteed wildlife viewing; you can walk at your own pace for a self-guided tour, or take a vehicle and have a guide show you around. Need an activity while you're here? Check out these great horse drawn sleigh rides in the Takhini area at Yukon Fat Horse Company. There is a ton of things to do in the area. See you soon!
The Takhini Hot Springs property has over 300 acres of beautiful wilderness to be explored and enjoyed. During the summer we have many hiking and bike trails. And in winter, you can cross country ski or snowshoe on many great trails. We also have a big pond where everyone is free to swim and cool down. After some good exercise, you can treat yourself to a relaxing soak in the hot springs. Access and use of the trails are free of charge!
